DIVERSITY CONSCIOUSNESS EDUCATION SERIES

Diversity Education: Text

WHAT IS DIVERSITY CONSCIOUSNESS?

Consciousness is the state of being mindfully perceptive of something — e.g., one’s own existence, perspectives, surroundings, etc. This state of mind is necessary to develop diversity consciousness: the understanding, awareness, and skills that empower us to contemplate and value human differences. Diversity consciousness development is a lifelong practice requiring humility, intentionality, and persistence.

Session Two – Examining Ourselves and Our Worlds

Session Three – Expanding Our Knowledge of Others and Their Worlds
